What a difference the sun makes. Spring is well under way, we have masses of BLUEBELLS out- they are very late this season....no signs of flower stems yet, likewise the wild orchids are well behing schedule too. Our NGS Bluebell opening raised £922 in three hours, a magnificent total for cahrity. Thank you to all who visited and to those who helped on the day. Our National Collection of Eucryphias just adore fine misty rain as they come from the Chilean or Tasmanian rainforests The birds are very busy starting to construct nests. A pidgeon looks so funny trying to carry a small twig into the yew tree to make this year's nest, with the nesting process starting I am about to put the 'cat fur' out for nest lining. Last year all the blue tit nest boxes had a lovely grey fur lining, this year it will be white fur from Monty! Monty and Abby-cat are sleeping either under the radiators or are to be found curled up on 'their' chairs to dream about the 'mousies' they might have caught.
Come to see where 'WAR HORSE' and SHERLOCK have been filmed.
